
Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, also said the TTPS will work alongside the developers for the “D’ Junction” mobile app to give real-time updates on band locations, as well as show users the nearest police station, post, or patrol. Founder and developer of the D’ Junction app, Ria Karim, said the most important feature the app offers is a band tracking mechanism.
“It really was developed out of experience and out of the understanding of a glaring gap, a missing link in terms of people being able to safely and securely navigate our towns and cities during Carnival time, especially in an environment which may be unfamiliar to them,” she said.
